Alexey Toropchenko named Storm Player of the Week

The Guelph Storm announced today that they have named forward Alexey Toropchenko the Player of the Week for the week ending September 31st. This is the second consecutive week that the Russian has received these honours.

On Friday night, Toropchenko was named the 1st star of the game for helping the Storm pick up their first win of the season scoring twice and adding an assist in the 5-4 victory over the Oshawa Generals. ┬áSaturday night in Saginaw, the 18 year old was the best player on both sides again being named the 1st star of the game in the Storm’s 6-3 win over the Spirit. Toropchenko scored once and added two helpers in the victory.

up next, the Storm play two back to back contests at the Sleeman Centre hosting the Winsdor Spitfires on Friday and the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday at 4pm. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online or by visiting or calling the Guelph Storm Box Office at 519-837-9690.
