The Guelph Storm announced today that captain Matt Kennedy is the AMJ Campbell Van Lines Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 27th.
Kennedy recorded two goals and two assists for four points in three games over the weekend. Held off the scoresheet on Friday against the Spitfires, Kennedy scored the Storm’s third goal in the 6-4 loss to the Colts on Thursday night at the Molson Centre. Sunday was the overager’s best game as he recorded a short handed goal, two assists and scored the shootout winner in the 6-5 victory over the Kitchener Rangers. The 20 year old was named the first star of the game.
Since re-joining the Storm after attending Carolina’s NHL camp, Kennedy has recorded three goals and four assists for seven points in four games played.
Next up, Kennedy and the rest of the Storm face off in a home and home against the Niagara IceDogs next weekend. The Storm host the IceDogs at the Sleeman Centre on Friday night before heading to Niagara on Saturday.
