AMJ Player of the Week

The Guelph Storm announced today that forward Mathew Sisca is the AMJ Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, December 14th.

Sisca was the leading Storm point getter this week picking up 6 goals in four games. Held off the score sheet on Tuesday against Kitchener and Sunday against Kingston, Sisca netted four goals in the Storm’s 8-1 win over the Attack on Friday and added two more on Saturday In the 7-3 loss to the Knights. The Woodbridge native becomes the first Storm player to score four goals in a game since Luke Pither did it back in 2007-08 against, coincidentally, the Owen Sound Attack. Sisca was named Friday’s first star of the game.

Recording six goals this past week, Sisca currently sits fourth in team scoring with 23 points. In his last eight games, the 19 year old has recorded nine goals, making him second on the Storm in goals with 16. His three power play goals on the weekend move him into a first place tie with Taylor Beck for the most goals scored with the man advantage (7).
Next up, the Storm head to Kitchener on Friday night to face off against the Rangers for the fourth time in less than a month.  On Saturday at the Sleeman Centre the Storm host the Plymouth Whalers on Saturday in a rare afternoon game at 2:00 pm in the last game before the Christmas break. Tickets are still available for Saturday and can be purchased online or by visiting or calling the Guelph Storm Box Office at 519-837-9690.
