The Guelph Storm announced today that forward Peter Holland is the AMJ Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 28th.
Holland was the highest Storm scorer this week picking up seven points, three goals and four assists, in games three, four and five of the Storm’s Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the Knights. Tuesday night in London, Holland had his best game of the series leading his team to a 5-4 win. Recording a point on every Storm goal, Holland put forth a second star effort scoring twice and picking up three assists. Held off the scoresheet on Thursday, Holland bounced back with a goal and an assist in the Storm’s final game of the 2009-10 season. He was named the third star of the game.
Struggling through injury during the first half of the season, the Caldeon native finished off with a bang. Holland recorded 54 of his 80 points since the beginning of January and was a part of 42% of the Storm’s goal since the New Year. Standing second on his team in points with 80, the 19 year old finished 15th in overall league scoring.
Defeated by the London Knights in five games in the Western Conference Quarterfinal, the Storm looks ahead to May and the 2010 OHL Priority Selection.
