From the Stands: Crucial times for Guelph Storm

It is quite clear that barring some minor miracle the Guelph Storm will not make the playoffs for the second straight season, yet coach Jarrod Skalde sees the next few weeks as some of the most crucial for his hockey team.

“We have X amount of practices, and X amount of games and we have to optimize every one,” he said on the long bus ride home from Flint, Mich., on Sunday night. “Practices are especially important for skill development. Some players are in their draft year, other guys want to move beyond junior or even make our team next year.  We have some tough decisions so this is a pivotal time for everyone in the organization.”
