Givani Smith invited to Hockey Canada’s National Junior Team Summer Development Camp

Hockey Canada announced today they have invited Guelph Storm forward Givani Smith to Canada’s National Junior Team Summer Development Camp.

Smith, continued to take strides in his third OHL season setting a career high in both goals (26) and points (44). In total, the Toronto, Ontario native posted 26 goals and 18 assists for 44 points in 64 games. The Detroit Red Wings prospect was named to Team OHL in both games of the Canada-Russia Series, recording an assist in two games. The six-foot-two, 209-pound winger also led the team with six Player of the Week titles (October 23, 30, November 27, December 18, February 19 and March 5).

Following the conclusion of the Storm’s season, Smith joined the Grand Rapids Griffins and made his professional hockey debut on March 31, appearing in 3 games with the Griffins.

The World Juniors returns to the United States with the Buffalo set to host the tournament in December and January.
