Grand & Toy Player of the Week

The Guelph Storm has announced today that, for the second week in a row, goaltender Tom McCollum is the Grand & Toy Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, December 14th.

McCollum posted a 2-1 record this past weekend and was perfect in both wins allowing zero goals. On Friday night, the 19 year old turned aside all 22 Plymouth shots for the win to collect his second shutout of the year and team record 11th of his career. Sunday in Kitchener McCollum, who has since left to play for Team USA at the World Juniors, stopped all 23 shots recording his third shutout in two weeks.

In three games this weekend, the 19 year had a record of 2-1 with a goals against average of 1.67 and a save percentage of 0.938. The Sanborn native currently sits second in league standing for goals against average and save percentage with 2.13 and 0.928 respectively. Picking up his 16th victory on Sunday night in Kitchener, McCollum is currently ranked fourth in the OHL for wins.

Next up, The Storm travel to Erie on Friday night to take on the Otters before hosting the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Saturday afternoon in the final game before the Christmas break. For more information or to purchase tickets contact the Guelph Storm Box Office at 519-837-9690.
