One in three mothers struggle to provide clean diapers for their babies. Not being able to afford diapers for your baby is not only a physical hardship but is emotional, for the baby AND the caregiver. Babies without clean, dry diapers experience signs of irritation and discomfort, and cry and suffer more from diaper rash. If the caregiver is too distressed from not being able to provide diapers, it can affect their parenting skills, and ultimately, their ability to lead a self-sufficient life.
The Storm are asking fans to lend a hand to mothers in need by donating diapers, wipes and other infant related items, during Friday night’s game. Fans who donate will receive three (3) Chuck-A-Pucks for every donated item. Pucks will also be available for $2 each. The Chuck-A-Puck contest will be held during the second intermission. All collected items and proceeds will be donated to Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis.
All items can be donated inside Gate 6. There are two (2) grand prizes from the Chuck-A-Puck contest, including a team autographed jersey and a team autographed collector’s stick.
