Huge signing for Guelph Storm

The Guelph Storm made a huge signing Wednesday with the signing of centre Cam Hillis.

Hillis, 17, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound centre from Enniskillen, was the team’s second round selection (28th overall) in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.

He didn’t initially sign with the club and had committed to an NCAA scholarship at Providence College. He was initially expected to play tier II hockey with the Penticton Vees this season.

Last season he played for St. Andrew’s College, scoring 28 goals and adding 49 assists in 58 games.

In his draft year he scored 25 goals and had 47 assists in 33 games for the York Simcoe Express, being named the OMHA-ETA player of the year.
