Merkley Named Player of the Week

The Guelph Storm announced today that defenceman Ryan Merkley is the Player of the Week for the week ending October 9, 2016.

Merkley had a big weekend recording four assists in two games. The Mississauga native picked up an assist in Friday night’s game versus the Spitfires. He then followed that up with his first multi-point game of his OHL career, when he recorded three assists against the Bulldogs.

Next, the Storm travels to Mississauga for a mid-week battle with the Steelheads, on Wednesday for a 7:00 PM puck drop. They then return home to battle divisional foes, the Erie Otters on Friday at 7:30 PM. Followed by Sunday’s matinee game when the Storm host the Rangers for game two of the Highway Seven rivalry for a 2:00 PM puck drop. Tickets are still available for both Friday and Sunday’s games and can be purchased by calling or visiting the Guelph Storm Box Office at 519-837-9690 or at ticketmaster.ca.
