Over 3,500 Teddy Bears collected on Saturday!

On Saturday, December 15, Brent Johnson of Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln and the Guelph Storm hosted their annual Teddy Bear Toss Game! Fans were encouraged to bring plush toys and throw them on the ice following the first Storm goal.

This year’s teddy bear goal was scored by forward Barret Kirwin at the halfway point of the opening frame. Kirwin’s goal brought on a storm of over 3,500 stuffed animals onto the ice!

These plush toys were distributed to 10 local charities including:

  1. Alzheimer Society of Waterloo-Wellington
  2. Children’s Wish Foundation
  3. Diabetes Canada
  4. Shelldale Better Beginnings, Better Futures
  5. Wellington Dufferin Public Health – Prenatal Nutrition Program / Pregnancy to Parenting
  6. Salvation Army
  7. Norfolk Manor
  8. Westwood Public School
  9. Wyndham Hill Cooperation (Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition Group)
  10. North End Harvest Market (Non-Custodial Parent/Grandparent Program
