Ryan Merkley named Storm’s Player of the Week

The Guelph Storm announced today that defenceman Ryan Merkley is the Player of the Week for the week ending November 12th, 2017.

Recording six points in two games, Merkley led the way offensively for the Storm this past weekend. The Mississauga native’s best game of the week came on Sunday against the Wolves. Named first star of the game, Merkley had a career high 4 points, assisting on four of the five goals scored. Friday night against the Battalion, the 17 year old picked up a goal and an assist in the Storm’s 6-2 victory.

So far this year, Merkley leads the team in scoring (24), assists (18) and is second on the team in goals scored with 6. He has recorded multiple points in four of his last five games.

Next up, the Storm head to London on Thursday to face off against the Knights at 7pm. A rare Friday on the roads sees them in Kitchener on Friday before returning home to the Sleeman Centre on Sunday to host the Sarnia Sting. Puck drop is 6pm.  Tickets are still available and can be purchased online or by visiting or calling the Guelph Storm Box office at 519-837-9690.
