Schnarr Named Player of the Week

The Guelph Storm announced today that forward Nate Schnarr is the Player of the Week for the week ending January 15, 2016.

The rookie centre remains one of the most consistent forwards in the Storm lineup, recording points in both of Guelph’s games last week. The Waterloo native picked up an assist last Wednesday against the Attack and followed that up with a goal on Friday night, against the league’s top goaltender, Michael McNiven .

Since his return to the lineup at the end of December, Schnarr has been one of the hottest forwards on the team with four goals and an assist in eight games. In total, the six-foot-three, 180-pound forward has 12 goals and seven assists for 19 points in 29 games.

Next, the Storm return to action in a rare Tuesday night contest against the Niagara IceDogs in the first game of a home-and-home series, puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm. Game two of the home-and-home series will take place in Niagara on Thursday night. The Storm then travel to face Highway Seven rivals, the Kitchener Rangers on Friday night and finish the weekend with a visit to Windsor to face the Spitfires.
