The Guelph Storm announced today that forward Givani Smith is the Player of the Week for the week ending February 19, 2017, earning the honours for his team-leading fifth time this season.
The Storm veteran found the scoresheet in all three games starting with a goal last Wednesday in a 6-2 loss to the Sarnia Sting. Smith then added a goal in the Storm’s 6-2 win over the Barrie Colts and capped off the week with an assist in the 3-1 loss to the Windsor Spitfires last Saturday.
The Detroit Red Wings prospect is currently third in team scoring with 22 goals and 15 assists for 37 points in 53 games. The Toronto, Ontario native is just one goal and five points back of matching his totals from last season and is closing in on a career milestone of 100 OHL points, currently with 98.
