Storm improve to 2-1 in Pre-Season

The Storm improved their pre-season record to 2-1 tonight with a win over the Barrie Colts. Garret Sparks got the nod in net making 30 saves in the 4-1 victory.

Spencer Turcotte opened the scoring on the powerplay in the first deflecting a shot from the point to put the Storm up by one with under five minutes remaining in the first. Storm rookies Kyle Locke and Robby Fabbri picked up the assists on the play.

The Colts scored the only goal in the second before the Storm exploded for three in the third. Hunter Garlent scored twice, including an empty netter, and Zack Mitchell tallied the other to solidify the win.

Kyle Locke and Tanner Richard had two assists on the night while Scott Kosmachuk, Daniel Poliziani, Robby Fabbri and Chadd Bauman were credited with one a piece. 

Next up in exhibition action the Storm head to Brampton on Thursday, September 13th for the front end of a home and home that sees the Battalion visit the Sleeman Centre the next night.-Friday, September 14th. Sunday the Storm head to Barrie for the final pre season game before opening the 2012-13 season on home ice against the Saginaw Spirit on Setpember 21st.

General Admission tickets are still available for next Friday night and can be purchased by visiting the Guelph Storm Box Office in Old Quebec St. Mall.
