Storm proud of alumni reaching hockey’s summit

By Mike Arsenault, Review

The Stanley Cup victory by the Los Angeles Kings was a little extra special for the Guelph Storm organization, since two former alumni played huge roles in the Kings’ first Cup victory in franchise history.

Although no one on the current coaching staff was with the team when Drew Doughty and Dustin Brown skated for the Storm, current assistant coach and assistant general manager Chris Hajt had nothing but good things to say about the Stanley Cup-winning pair.

“Two years ago, they both came to the 20th anniversary alumni weekend and were mainstays at it,” he said. “I know they both care about their time in Guelph and cherish the time here that they had. They’re both down-to-earth, fun people. They blended right in with everybody else.”

Seeing two former players reach and be victorious on hockey’s biggest stage really means a lot to the Storm franchise.
