Storm rebound in Sarnia with 4-1 win

Following a 6-2 loss at the hands of the Sarnia Sting at home on Friday night, the Guelph Storm closed out the latter half of the home-and-home series with a 4-1 win in Sarnia on Saturday night.

The Sting’s Jacob Perreault opened the scoring in the first period on the power play, earning the game’s third star honours, and the first and only lead for Sarnia.

The Storm turned things around in the second period, scoring three goals with Liam Hawel getting things going 6:20 into the frame. Nick Suzuki and Dom Commisso rounded out Guelph’s 3-1 lead heading into the final 20 minutes.

Hawel made it a 4-1 final in the third, scoring his second of the game for first star recognition.

The Storm’s Nate Schnarr earned the game’s second star with two assists.

The Storm return to the Sleeman Centre to close out the three-in-three weekend with a Sunday matinee at 2pm, hosting the Kingston Frontenacs.
