Storm Release Overage Forward Marc Stevens

Guelph Storm General Manager Mike Kelly announced today that the Storm have released overage forward Marc Stevens.

“After discussions with Marc Stevens regarding the need to open up opportunities for our younger players, it was decided to give Marc the opportunity to seek an overage roster spot with any team in the Canadian Hockey League,” said Storm GM Mike Kelly. “To facilitate that opportunity, we gave Marc his release as of August 2nd. Marc has been a first class player and ambassador for the Storm for the past four seasons and we wish him every success, both in and out of hockey.”

Selected in the fifth round of the 2012 OHL Priority Selection, the Turkey Point native was a mainstay with the Storm for the past three seasons. During his time with the Storm, Stevens, a member of the 2014 OHL Championship team, posted nine goals and 20 assists for 29 points in 153 games, as well as one assist in 17 playoff games, and a goal during two games played at the 2014 Memorial Cup. Paired with his leadership abilities both on and off the ice, Stevens was a vital part of the Guelph community, receiving both the Winmar Community Hero award and the Mike Kelly Humanitarian award, in addition to the club’s leadership award for the 2015-16 season.
