Storm select Daniil Chayka seventh overall

With the seventh overall pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, the Guelph Storm welcome Daniil Chayka to the Royal City.

The six-foot-two, 173-pound defenseman posted 33 points (15 goals, 18 assists) in 45 games for the GTHL’s Toronto Jr. Canadiens Minor Midget AAA team through the 2017-18 Season.

With the Jr. Canadiens, Chayka won the 2018 OHL Cup Powered by Under Armour, recording six points (four goals, two assists) in seven games, with a plus-seven rating.

Chayka is a native of Moskva, Russia.
