Tag Bertuzzi commits to Storm

The Guelph Storm Hockey Club is pleased to announce that Tag Bertuzzi and his family have committed to the Storm.

The Storm’s first-round choice in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, Bertuzzi was selected second overall from the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies 16U team.

“We are thrilled to add Tag to our program. Tag brings an excellent combination of size, skating, skill and hockey intelligence to our group,” said Storm General Manager and Head Coach George Burnett. “He immediately compliments our strong core of young players and will be a key member of out team moving forward.”

The six-foot-one, 190-pound centre spent the 2016-17 season as captain of the Jr. Grizzlies, recording 21 goals and 29 assists for 50 points in 49 games.  He also participated in the 2017 OHL Cup as a member of the TPH Thunder, registering three points in four games.

“I would like to thank the ownership, coaching staff, management, scouting staff and fans of the Guelph Storm,” said Bertuzzi. “I am humble and grateful for this opportunity to be able to put the Storm sweater on. This is a once-in-a-lifetime feeling that I am looking forward to taking advantage of. I have a lot to work on in the summer and with this challenge, I will work my hardest to earn a spot on the Guelph Storm roster.”

Bertuzzi headlines a list of 12 Storm prospects that are scheduled to participate in the 2017 OHL Gold Cup. Tag will join Team HNO as the event kicks off later this week at the Activa Sportsplex in Kitchener.
