Timbit Minor Girls Hockey Day – Game Preview: Guelph Storm vs. Ottawa 67’s

The Guelph Storm welcome the Ottawa 67’s to the Sleeman Centre on Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm for their first meeting of the season.

The Guelph Storm were very busy at this years trade deadline making multiple moves for a strong playoff push. Guelph recently acquired D Fedor Gordeev from Flint, D Markus Phillips, C Nick Suzuki and LW Zachary Roberts from Owen Sound and MacKenzie Entwistle from the Hamilton Bulldogs all via trades at the deadline. Guelph will now look to fight for home ice advantage in the playoffs in the Western Conference against teams such as Saginaw, Sault St. Marie and London.

The Ottawa 67’s head into Sundays game in 1st place in the league,  and are considered to be one of the top favourites for the OHL playoffs this year. Ottawa made a few moves this season including picking up Goaltender Michael DiPietro, LW Kyle Maksimovich and LW Lucas Chiodo in moves to make their strong playoff push. Heading into Sundays game Ottawas Tye Felhaber leads the OHL in points with 73 and goals with 46.
