Peter Holland – Guelph Storm Performer and nominee for OHL Performer of the month
Peter was named the Guelph Storm’s performer of the month after recording 22 points in 13 games throughout February. Leading the Storm in scoring during the month with nine goals and 15 assists, Holland recorded at least one point in 11 of 13 games this month including seven multi point games. The Ducks’ 2009 first round draft pick earned two second and one first star honour during the month.
Holland has recorded 44 points since the beginning of January, recording at least one point in 22 of his 26 games played. Currently sitting in second on the Storm in scoring with 70 points, Holland has recorded 14 multi point games since the beginning of January and is producing at well over a point per game pace. He sits second in assists with 44 and is tied for third with teammate Michael Latta scoring eight times with the man advantage.
Adam Comrie- Guelph Storm Defenceman and nominee for OHL Defenceman of the Month
Comrie was named the Guelph Storm’s Defenceman of the Month after recording 8 points during the month of February. The Asburn, VA native tallied five goals, including two power play markers, and three assists in 13 games. Awarded with one first and third star honours, Comrie was a plus one during the month.
Comrie surpassed his career high in points set last season during February and currently leads all Guelph defenders in scoring with 35 points. He and teammate Mathew Sisca are the only two Storm players to have played all 62 games.
Brandon Foote-Guelph Storm Goaltender of the Month and nominee for OHL Goaltender of the Month
Brandon was named the Guelph Storm’s Goaltender of the Month for February after posting a 8-5-0-0 record. Returning from a hip injury that kept him out of the first half of the season, the Whitby native has played in every game since the 8th of January. Posting a goals against average of 3.54 and a save percentage of 0.904, Foote was awarded with one first and second star honour during the month of February.
Solid since his return, the 18 year old has posted an overall record of 14-8-1-0, a save percentage of 0.909 and a goals against average of 3.31.
Francis Menard Guelph Storm Rookie of the Month and nominee for OHL Rookie of the Month
Menard was named the Guelph Storm’s Rookie of the Month after recording four points, all of them goals, in 13 games played. The 16 year old recorded the first power play goal of his career in the Storm’s 6-2 loss to the Owen Sound Attack. Tied with Carter Sandlak for the rookie point lead with 14 points, Menard was named the Storm’s hardest work player of the game against the Peterborough Petes on February 26th.
As of March 1st, Menard has seven goals and seven assists.
