Harpur signs entry-level deal with Senators

GUELPH, ON – The Storm have announced that defenseman Ben Harpur has signed a three-year, entry-level contract.

The 19-year old Harpur was originally selected by the Senators in the fourth round (78th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, and is currently in his fourth season with the Storm.

In seven games with the Storm this season, Harpur has two goals and five assists, along with a plus-5 rating and 10 PIMs.  He has been selected to participate as part of Team OHL in the 2014 Subway Super Series in Peterborough on Nov. 13.

Harpur played an integral role on last season’s OHL Championship team, establishing a career-high in points (16) in 67 regular season games, while adding five points in 20 OHL Playoff games as the Storm reached the Mastercard Memorial Cup tournament.

The Storm originally selected Harpur in the third round of the 2011 OHL Priority Selection.  In 175 games played with the Storm, he has collected 42 points (nine goals, 33 assists) and carries a plus-54 rating.
