Storm double Petes

Tony Saxon, Guelph Mercury – You know a coach is going to be pleased when he holds the opposition to just 22 shots on net.

So Jason Brooks had nothing but positive things to say about the red-hot Guelph Storm’s tidy 6-3 win over the Peterborough Petes Thursday night.

After spinning its wheels to start the season, gaining just a shootout-loss point in its first three games, the Storm has now rolled off five straight victories.

“We only gave up 13 shots through the first two periods. We did some really good things out there tonight,” Brooks said over the phone one the way home from the game.

The team is now 5-2-0-1 on the year and could improve on that Friday night when the 3-6-1 Belleville Bulls visit the Sleeman Centre in a 7:30 p.m. start.

“We said all along at the start of the season that it was going to take some time for the chemistry to come together and now I think we’re starting to see some chemistry on this team.”
