Storm lose to Erie 5-2

Tony Saxon, Guelph Mercury – The Erie curse struck again Wednesday night.

After a 90-minute delay at the border regarding the paperwork of Russian import Evgeny Molotilov threw their schedule off kilter, the Storm fell 5-2 to the Erie Otters.

The home side scored four unanswered goals in the final two periods to take the win.

“I thought in the first period we played OK, but in the second period we played sloppy andwe got knocked off the puck too easy,” Storm coach Jason Brooks said over the phone on the bus ride back from Erie.

The news wasn’t all bad for the Storm. Captain Matt Kennedy (pictured) returned to the ice after a five-game absence with a groin injury.
