Storm loses to Sudbury in final seconds

By Tony Saxon, Guelph Mercury – ichael MacDonald’s shorthanded goal with just two seconds remaining in the third period spoiled a valiant comeback by the Guelph Storm on a Sudbury Saturday night.

MacDonald stole the puck at the Sudbury Wolves blue line and broke in all alone on goaltender Brandon Foote before making a move to his forehand in close to score the decisive goal in a 7-6 Wolves win.

MacDonald appeared to put himself offside when he momentarily lost control of the puck coming over the Storm blueline, but the linesman ruled the play onside.
