Teddy Bear Toss Facts & Stats

Friday night at the Sleeman Centre, the Sarnia Sting come to town for the Storm’s annual Teddy Bear Toss game sponsored by Brent Johnson of Wellington Motors.

Last year it didn’t take long for the stuffed toys to fall as it was Matt Sisca who brought down the bears scoring just 1:13 into the opening frame. The Storm would go on to defeat the Owen Sound Attack in the annual Teddy Bear Toss game by a score of 8-1.

Teddy Bear Toss Facts…

– over 10 seasons, the Storm has collected over 29,000 new, or ‘slightly loved’ stuffed toys that have been donated to charities in Guelph and around the world.

– the average time of the Teddy Bear Toss goal over ten seasons (not counting the shutout game) 5:15 of the second period.

– the most bears ever collected by the Storm in a single game was 3,500 last season in the club’s win over Owen Sound.

– the Storm’s record in 10 Teddy Bear Toss games is 5-2-3.
