Detroit — Andreas Lilja was asked if he thought the white-hot line of Henrik Zetterberg, Valtteri Filppula and Todd Bertuzzi needed a nickname.
“Two Sedins and a Bert,” he said, with a laugh. “Those two guys (Zetterberg and Filppula) play like the Sedins (Vancouver’s Henrik and Daniel), back and forth, back and forth.”
Funny thing about that, though, Bertuzzi probably would prefer the line be called the Three Sedins. He considers himself more of a playmaker with the puck than a net-front presence.
“(Having three guys who can handle the puck) makes it easier for us to have a cycle, and to have a cycle that actually goes somewhere instead of sitting in the corner and spinning around,” Bertuzzi said.
Coach Mike Babcock, however, doesn’t want to hear any talk about all three guys handling the puck. That’s not at all how he sees that line functioning.
