Unbeaten streak ends at four

By Tony Saxon, Guelph Mercury – There is a checklist of things this year’s Guelph Storm has to do in order to be successful.

But anyone keeping track Thursday night in Barrie would have kept their pen in their pocket as the Storm lost 5-3 to the Colts, its first loss in five pre-season games.

Getting the puck deep into the other team’s zone? Nope.

Outskating the opposition? Nada.

Backchecking hard? Negatory.

Staying away from bad penalties? Maybe next time.

“I think maybe our heads got a little big,” winger Scott Kosmachuk said of the team’s two wins and two ties in its first four pre-season games.
