Ryan Merkley’s third assist of the night came with two seconds left in the third period, setting up Arizona Coyotes prospect Nate Schnarr (3, 4) for the game winner as the Guelph Storm edged visiting Sarnia 6-5. All three of Merkley’s assists were primary helpers as Schnarr scored twice, joining captain Isaac Ratcliffe (4, 5) with a pair on the night. Tag Bertuzzi (1) and Cam Hillis (1) added singles as the Storm outshot the Sting 43-30 and went 3-for-4 on the power play. Brayden Guy (1, 2) scored twice in the loss for Sarnia while other scorers included Jacob Perreault (3), Sean Josling (2) and Anthony Salinitri (3). Guelph improves to 3-1-1-0 while Sarnia falls to 3-2-0-0.
