The Guelph Storm took over in the second half of a close 3-2 game at the midway point as Alexey Toropchenko (4), Cedric Ralph (1) and Barret Kirwin (1) scored goals to put the game out of reach in a 6-3 win in Saginaw. The Storm went 4-for-5 on the power play as Ryan Merkley, Dmitri Samorukov and Matt Hotchkiss all registered two assists while Toropchenko finished the night with a goal and two helpers. Zach Poirier (1), Garrett McFadden (2) and Isaac Ratcliffe (2) also scored Guelph markers while goaltender Anthony Popovich made 33 saves. The Spirit had goals from Cole Coskey (3), who provided one for the highlight reel while Nicholas Porco (1) scored his first OHL goal and Ben Badalamenti (2) picked up his second. The Spirit fall to 1-2-1-0 while Guelph improves to 2-1-0-1.
