Spitfires Make History With Series Comeback
The Windsor Spitfires became the first team to win a series after going down three games since the Ottawa 67’s did it against the Oshawa Generals in 1988. Windsor’s win, wrapped up the Conference Quarterfinals.
The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the series before the Spitfires won four in a row, including three in overtime, to win the series.

In Sault Ste. Marie, John Scott Dickson scored 33 seconds into the second overtime period to give the Windsor Spitfires a 3-2 win over the Greyhounds in Game 7 of their Western Conference playoff series on Tuesday.
Jeff Carter scored two goals in the first period, including a powerplay marker at the 10 minute mark, to give the Greyhounds a two-goal lead.
Brett Liscomb scored early in the second period for the Spitfires and Steve Downie tied the game with his fourth goal of the series with 4:20 left in the second period.
