Friday December 6th – Books for Kids Event
GuelphToday is teaming up with the Guelph Storm for a great cause on Friday at the annual Books For Kids event.
GuelphToday volunteers will be collecting donated new children’s books at the Sleeman Centre as fans arrive to watch the Storm take on the Barrie Colts. Those books will be given to the Salvation Army and distributed through their annual hamper program.
This is the third year that GuelphToday has held the popular event, helping distribute over 2,000 books in the community.
Books will be collected at the main entrance to the rink prior to the game.
Sunday December 8th – Holiday Toy Drive
Sunday’s game on December 8th at 2:00 pm when the London Knights visit the Sleeman Centre will feature our annual Holiday Toy Drive in support of the Salvation Army and proudly sponsored by Zehrs®.
Zehrs® in partnership with the Guelph Storm are rewarding fans that support the Salvation Army by donating a new unwrapped toy for local families during the holiday season. Each fan who donates an unwrapped toy (or makes a $2 cash donation) will receive a ‘Chuck-A-Puck’ to participate in the second intermission puck toss for a chance to win one of three great prizes!
New toys can be donated inside Gate 6. Prizes for the puck toss in support of the Salvation Army include a $100 gift card for Spyke’s Sports, a team autographed jersey and a team autographed collector’s stick!
Over the last three seasons, over 1,000 toys have been generously donated by Storm fans.
For fans that want to support this wonderful holiday season cause but are unable to attend Sunday’s game, you can drop off a new unwrapped toy at one of four local Zehrs® stores in Guelph (124 Clair Road East, 297 Eramosa Road, 160 Kortright Road West or 1045 Paisley Road East).
