Guelph Storm are looking for Host Families

The Guelph Storm Hockey Club is currently looking for interested families to join our Host Family Program!

Host families, commonly known as “billet families,” are essential towards the success of our student-athletes both on and off the ice. With Storm players coming from across Ontario, part of the United States and Europe, our host families provide the comfort and stability that our players need to navigate an intensive hockey and academic schedule. Storm players range in age from 16-20 and will attend high school or a post-secondary institution while with the team.

We take great care in making sure to establish the best possible match for our players and their host family, with the goal that the player fit right in and be treated as another member of the family. The experience can be very rewarding and has the potential to establish a life-long relationship between a player and his ‘billet family’.

It’s important to note the principles of success that we outline for our players at the rink and in the classroom will extend to their ‘billet’ home. Our players MUST respect the rules of their host family, and the host family must recognize the team’s core values and structure.
