Money raised from Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae Jersey Auction donated to all three local Legion branches

Back in November, the Storm donned special commemorative jerseys during their game vs. the Barrie Colts. The online auction brought in a total of more than $7,500. We are now happy to announce that all three local Legions have benefited.

Guelph Legion – $3,000
Fergus Legion – $2,370.21
Elora Legion – $2,370.21

The one-of-a-kind jerseys commemorated Canadian veterans, with specific reference to Guelph’s own proud history honouring Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae.  Always remembered in his hometown of Guelph with the conversion of his family home into the McCrae House Museum, the Guelph Storm are honoured to recognize the local, national and worldwide legacy of Lieutenant John McCrae exactly one hundred years after his passing.

The Storm would like to thank those who purchased a jersey and participated in the auction for making this possible.
