Storm fall 4-2 to Greyhounds

The last time the Storm and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds met was February 17th, 2020. The Storm were able to come away with the 3-2 win with the help of Danny Zhilkin after an intense shootout. Looking to keep the wins rolling against the Greyhounds on Friday,  the Storm unfortunatley fell short with 4-2 heartbreaker in front of a crowd of 2,814 fans.

The first period was controlled by the Greyhounds as Robert Calisti opened the scoring with the help of Kavlyn Watson and Bryce McConnell-Barker. Followed by another Greyhound goal from Marco Mignosa with the help of Tyler Savard and Jordan D’Intino. The Greyhounds led 2-0 heading into the first intermission. ‘

Despite a tough first period, the Storm opened the second-period scoring with a goal by Danny Zhilkin, assisted by Sasha Patujov and Daniil Chayka to make it a 2-1 game. A late second-period goal by Bryce McConnell-Barker brought the period to a close and a score of 3-1.

The Greyhounds were able to strike first in the third with a goal by Cole MacKay and assists by Kirill Kudryavstev and Tanner Dickinson. The Storm snuck one in for a late third-period goal and the first of his OHL career, Luka Profaca, assisted by Matthew Poitras and Michael Buchinger, but unfortunately couldn’t pull off the comeback as the Storm fell 4-2 to the Greyhounds.
