Support a Rad!cal Recovery on Friday, February 10th vs. Flint Firebirds

The United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin has teamed up with the Guelph Storm to bring fans the Support a Rad!cal Recovery game on Friday, February 10th when the Flint Firebirds visit the Sleeman Centre.

Our communities’ social safety net is more important than ever.  If we want our communities to rebuild in a way that sees everyone thrive, we must come together and take action now.  We must use the same energy and sense of urgency we had when the pandemic began to now address the root causes of issues that are so heavily impacting our community.  We cannot just go back to ‘normal’ or simply ‘recover’ – we need a radical recovery!

United Way is taking action to create lasting positive change. The impact and urgency of issues like declining mental health, isolation, and food insecurity require all of us to come together to support our community.  Each contribution and action will make a difference and fuel community change. Together, we will champion a shared responsibility for social good and help all who live in Guelph, Wellington, and Dufferin not only recover but thrive.

The game will feature a puck drop with Glenna Banda, Executive Director, United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin, t-shirts for giveaways and concourse displays with information about local issues. There will also be opportunities for the community to help make a difference, including a donation table,  the 50/50 draw with half of the proceeds going to support United Way and finally a chuck-a-puck toss.

A radical recovery relies on all parts of our community and that includes you! By donating, volunteering, learning, and unlearning, you fuel community change and help us begin the process of building an even stronger community that supports all who live in Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin.

Tickets for the game are still available. For ticket information, go to tickets.guelphstorm.com or by calling (519) 837-9690.
