Turning snow plows into ‘show’ plows

The Storm in conjuction with the City of Guelph and with support from the Guelph and Wellington Children’s Foundation are pleased to announce – “Turning Snowplows into Show Plows” an art contest for youths aged 4-16.

An extension of our earlier featured “Name the snowplow contest”, we are asking young artists to create drawings for one of the six winning names listed below.

·      Blizzard of Oz

·      Flocon   –   (French for Snowflake)

·      Darth Blader

·      Sir-Plows-a-Lot

·      Frost Bite

·      Lil’ Plow Wow

The contest will launch on June 1, 2021, and close on Wednesday, Aug 18, 2021 at 5pm. Winners will have their artwork wrapped on the corresponding snowplow and will join Spyke and Stormy from the Storm next winter on one of the 8 City of Guelph Snowplows.


  • Artists name will appear on the snowplow wrap
  • Winner will receive a gift from the Storm and a certificate from the Mayor on behalf of the City
  • The wrap will be used for 2 winter seasons (2021/2022 and 2022/2023)
  • Winners will be invited to a Storm Game


  • Any type of art detail will be welcomed (digital, drawing, animation, graffiti, painting etc)
  • The artwork should include character with eyes, in full color, and personifies one the six snowplow names.
  • Only one submission per person
  • Must live in Guelph or Wellington County
