Wednesday Highlights: Storm take school day shootout in Erie

Pavel Gogolev and Cam Hillis scored shootout markers as the Guelph Storm edged the Erie Otters 4-3 before an energetic crowd of 2,903 students at Erie Insurance Arena. The back-and-forth contest featured 45 saves from Storm netminder Nico Daws before he denied three of the four shootout opponents he faced. Cedric Ralph (3), Ty Collins (3) and Andrei Bakanov (3) scored Guelph goals while Hillis recorded a pair of assists as the Storm prevailed despite being outshot 48-31. Daniel D’Amato (6), Chad Yetman (12) and Jack Duff (2) scored Erie markers while rookie Aidan Campbell stopped 28, helping the Otters earn a point in the shootout loss. Guelph improves to 4-4-1-2 on the season, three points back of Erie as the Otters own a 6-5-0-2 mark.
