NHL Playoffs begin with 13 former Storm players on rosters

The 2011 NHL Playoffs are underway with a number of Storm alumni looking to be part of a Stanley Cup Championship.

With the recent addition of Peter Holland to the Anaheim Ducks’ playoff eligible roster, there are 13 former Storm players on the rosters of the 16 NHL clubs vying  for the Stanley Cup.

While a handful of these players are actually competing for the Calder Cup Championship in the AHL and others are injured, the following Storm alumni are on playoff eligible rosters:

Eastern Conference:

1. Washington Capitals vs. 8. New York Rangers

Washington… Brian Willsie

New York… Daniel Girardi, Ryan Callahan

2. Philadelphia Flyers vs. 7. Buffalo Sabres

No former Storm players on either roster

3. Boston Bruins vs. 6. Montreal Canadiens

Boston… Jamie Arniel, Daniel Paille

4. Pittsburgh Penguins vs. 5. Tampa Bay Lightning

No former Storm players on either roster

Western Conference:

1. Vancouver Canucks vs. 8. Chicago Blackhawks

Vancouver… Manny Malhotra, Ryan Parent

2. San Jose Sharks vs. 7. Los Angeles Kings

Los  Angeles… Dustin Brown, Drew Doughty

3. Detroit Red Wings vs. 6. Phoenix Coyotes

Detroit… Todd Bertuzzi, Thomas McCollum

4. Anaheim Ducks vs. 5. Nashville Predators

Anaheim… Peter Holland

Nashville… Kevin Klein
